Karl-Axel Waplan Appointed President and CEO
 January 13, 2010 The Board of Directors of Northland Resources Inc. (Northland) is pleased to announce the appointment of Karl-Axel Waplan to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Waplan currently serves as Northland's Executive Vice President, Sweden, overseeing the development of Northland's Kaunisvaara Iron Ore Project.

"The Board of Northland is very pleased to appoint Karl-Axel as our new President and CEO. Karl-Axel has been with the Company since 2008 and has been instrumental in the development of our key projects. He is a very experienced mining executive, having previously held executive positions with Lundin Mining and Boliden. He has also worked for other large international iron ore and base metal companies. Karl-Axel's profile is perfect for managing a company, moving towards production, with projects in Sweden and Finland," stated Executive Chairman Anders Hvide.
