Karl-Axel Waplan
President and CEO

Mr. Waplan has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. In the late 90s he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Boliden Ltd, and a member of Boliden's Executive Management Committee. He was directly responsible for supervising the development of Boliden's Storliden mine. In 2003 he joined the management team of Sudamin Ltd. and was COO for the Ferro Alloys and Noble Alloys activities. He joined Lundin Mining Corporation in May 2004 as Executive VP Operations, and was President and CEO from April 2005 until January 2008.

Eva Kaijser
CFO

Ms. Kaijser has over 10 years of experience working with Boliden AB, a European metals producer. She has been a member of Group management since 2007. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development and before that SVP, Information and Investor Relations. Ms. Kaijser also has experience as Finance and Treasury Manager and Group Controller. Ms. Kaijser holds a B.Sc., Business Administration and Economics, from Stockholm University.

Patrick Foster
Director of Finance

A geology graduate with an MBA from London Business School, Patrick worked in the City of London from 1981 to 2008.Starting as a Mining analyst, he spent 10 years with Rothschild Asset Management as a managing director, 11 years with ING as a managing director in their securities division before moving to ICAP as a managing Director in their Equities Division. Patrick has worked with Mining companies for over 25 years both as a Director and as an advisor on corporate strategy, fund raising and investor relations.

William S. Wagener
Executive Vice-President

Mr. Wagener has held various senior operational management positions at a number of underground and surface coal operations in the US and internationally. Prior to starting his consulting career he worked for Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) for 19 years, latterly as President of ARCO Coal Australia Inc. in Brisbane, Australia, which produced 20-million tonnes of coal per year. He has a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri.

Paul Marsden
VP Metallurgical Development & Operations

Mr. Marsden has spent 29 years as a consultant to the international mining and iron and steel industries, including nearly 27 years with Corus Consulting (formerly British Steel Consultants Ltd), an arm of Corus Steel. He is a specialist with expertise in iron ore beneficiation, pelletizing, iron making and alternative iron making technology. Mr. Marsden has a BSc, Geological Sciences from Aston University, Birmingham, UK, is a Chartered Engineer (C Eng), a Chartered Scientist (CSci), and a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IMMM or IOM3).

Dr. Vladimir Benes
Vice President of Exploration

Dr. Benes graduated from the Charles University of Prague in 1985 and later received an M.Sc. and a Doctorate in Geology from the University of Toronto. He was VP of Exploration and Development for Barrick Gold responsible for Russia and Central Asia. More recently Dr. Benes was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of an exploration company with gold, copper and base metal projects in Peru and Turkey. He has provided consulting services, due diligence and technical evaluation of gold, copper, base metal, molybdenum, nickel and chrome projects in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Peru in cooperation with a number of companies.

Manfred Lindvall
Vice President, Environment, Health & Safety

Mr. Lindvall joined Northland in 2008, after serving as Vice President, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) for Lundin Mining from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Lindvall worked with Boliden in various capacities from 1988 to 2006, his latest position being Vice President, EHS. He also worked at LKAB for 12 years. Mr. Lindvall holds an MSc degree in Mining and Metallurgy from the Luleå University of Technology, as well as an Engineering Licentiate degree in Applied Geology. Mr. Lindvall is a native of Norrbotten County in northern Sweden where Northland is developing its Kaunisvaara project.

Jonas Lundstrom
Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Communications

Mr. Lundstrom joined the Company in 2008 as Director of Corporate Communications, after working as a consultant to Northland in various capacities. Prior to joining Northland, held the position of President and CEO of the Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce for more than 5 years. He also has experience in Nordic politics, as a Deputy Mayor of the City of Luleå, Chairman of the Board of Education during 2000-2002, as well as being an appointed member of the North Calotte Council. In addition, he has served as a political adviser to the Minister of Industry in the Swedish Cabinet. Mr. Lundström holds a B.Sc. in Political Science from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.

Bert-Ove Johansson
Vice President - Swedish Operations

In 2008, Mr. Johansson served as Regional Director of Operations for Northland's Swedish subsidiary, Northland Resources AB. During that time he was involved in the economic studies on Northland's projects that have evolved in part into the Kaunisvaara Iron Project Feasibility Study, will now assume the positions of Vice President - Swedish Operations, and Managing Director for Northland Resources AB, and he will be responsible for launching the mining operations going forward.

Shane Williams
Vice President - Projects

Joined Northland in 2008 as Project Manager and was involved in the successful completion of the Preliminary Economic Assessment on the Kaunisvaara Iron Concentrate Project, and is currently leading the team responsible for the Definitive Feasibility Study on the Kaunisvaara Project Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor's degree (BE) in Electrical Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology in Ireland, as well as a Master of Project Management from the University of Limerick, also in Ireland. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and the International Association of Project Management.

Hans Nilsson
Market Manager

Since 2008 Mr. Hans Nilsson had been Northland's Senior Logistics Manager. Now as Market Manager, he will be a key person in marketing and sales of the products to be produced within Northland's group companies. He will also continue to have the oversight of Seaborne Logistics. Prior to joining Northland, Mr. Nilsson was the Sales and Marketing Manager, Industrial Sales, for GEE Energy GmbH, a German Bio Energy Company. Since the late 80's, he has held several managerial positions within the LKAB Group in Sales & Marketing and Shipping Logistics. He was the General Manager of the LKAB iron ore port in Luleå in the early 90's, Regional Sales Manager for LKAB in Singapore and later Regional Sales Manager in Minelco AB before he started in the Energy and Bioenergy sector where he held positions as Sales & Marketing Manager as well as CEO for TallOil Canada, a Canadian subsidiary to TallOil AB, a Swedish Bioenergy Company. Mr. Nilsson holds a B.Sc., Business Administration, from the Luleå University of Technology.
